Blue Yoshi

The hardest part about this costume was when I stabbed myself in the eye with a pin while trying on the head. Everything used here was made from reference pictures and attached accordingly. I used to stuffing to fill in the cheeks, tail, spikes, saddle and nose. If I could go back, I would make the head more like my fur suit headpiece with a movable jaw but as a sophomore in high school at the time I didn't have that much time.

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of the saddle or tail. The tail was made just by cutting the shape out with the blue fabric and a white t shirt for the under portion.

The saddle was made by sewing tube socks together and using an old red t shirt for the seat. The saddle was sewn to the shirt I was wearing.

Vikings: Lagertha Hair and Makeup

Hello everyone! This was my first attempt at hair and makeup of the wonderful shield maiden Lagertha!

This was such a fun look to recreate, because I got to play with earthy tones but still bring out the beautiful strong viking. This was only an original look going off of reference pictures. It was also my first time playing with Dutch braids (which I found out I am down right terrible at doing.)

Spongebob

This is down right one of my favorite costumes I have ever made. I was a freshman in high school when I did it.

Materials I used were:
A Giant Box
Knee High Socks
Cheap Black Slippers
Long Sleeve Yellow Shirt
Small Styrofoam Plates
Paint
Tights (couldn't find yellow tights)
Padding for your head, because the box can be heavy after long periods of time.

Daenarys Targaryen Series Part 1: Wedding Dress

This is a cosplay series I created about two-three years ago before I went to AniMinneapolis in southern Minnesota. I have been obsessed with Game of Thrones since Day 1, so of course I wanted to do a Dany cosplay with multiple outfits. I chose Dothraki Garb, "Dragonscale" wrap dress, and her wedding dress. I did not use any patterns for the outfits except eye balling multiple reference pictures. These were my first "official" cosplays and I was running short on time.

All 3 cosplays cost me under $150 to make.

Wedding Dress

For the Wedding Dress I wanted to add my own originality to it with a light purple fabric which I used a cover bed sheet for. I also used bra padding, brown ribbon, gray paint, and Sculpey.

What I found easiest was to just start in the middle of the sheet and draw out how I wanted my breast area to look. I then sewed in my padding then cut and sewed the front accordingly. Then I started to cut down to the skirt portion of the dress. Once I had the breast portion made, I wrapped the dress around myself and marked how much I needed to cut off and sew.

The breast portion also has 2 long strips sewn on the sides that were long enough to create detail on the breasts as well as wrap around the bodice to make a snug fit.

The dress is held up by a halter style with thick brown ribbon.

The front piece that is wrapped within the tightening straps was hand sculpted with Sculpey and painted with a basic gray acrylic and coated with Modge Podge, If I could go back I would definitely do a wire base and add another coat of Modge Podge to reduce stress marks on the clay. The piece held together for over 2 days of full day wear at a convention. The tail broke off from tripping up the stairs.

It is a very simple and fast dress to make. If I would have had a little more than a week to finish it, it would have been able to come out in better condition.
